Miserly Methods for Amusing Your Mammy This Mother’s Day

If you’re a bit skint and in need of Mother’s Day outing inspiration, or if you just fancy a thrifty afternoon about town, here’s what’s happening in Glasgow this Sunday.

If you’re on the O2 network, you can pop into WH Smith and pick up a free Mother’s Day card, up to the value of £7.50, using the Priority Moments app.

You could head along to Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street and meet the lovely Dawn O’Porter, who will be there signing copies of hew new book, Goose, at 1pm.

After that you could dawdle down to the Apple Store to have your heart warmed and your ears filled, as The East End Social presents Making An Impact on Dementia with Music. BBC Scotland’s Sally Magnusson will be speaking alongside Stewart Henderson from Chemikal Underground and Andy Lowndes from Playlist for Life, as they discuss the amazing impact of music in treating dementia. This fascinating free event will explore how music can evoke old memories and how it works wonderfully to enrich the lives of those suffering from dementia.

With  music in mind, you might then want to wander over to Browns to enjoy live piano until 8pm, while you sip a lovely five quid cocktail in swanky surroundings.

Whether you’re a mammy, a miser, or a Sunday driver (yeah), I hope you have a lovely Sunday stoat about town.
